Skittles has falsely labeled their book style three packs of Skittles as "gelatin free". My mom, who is a vegan label reader extraordinaire, put a pack of these in my stocking. The box they come in does not have gelatin listed in the ingredients and in fact says “gelatin free,” however as my fiancée luckily noticed the actual bags of Skittle DO have gelatin listed in the ingredients. Thankfully my fiancée is an even more dedicated label reader than I and noticed this before we had eaten any. This is incredible to me, is that even legal? Skittles, you do understand that beyond people with moral, environmental, and religious reasons for not eating gelatin that there are people with food allergies that could die if they trusted your box, right? This is absolutely unacceptable.

Kelowna Petsmart, they love to see happy, healthy pets! At least that's what they would have us believe. Unfortunately my fiancée and I found ourselves in the Kelowna Petsmart today looking for a dog bed. I was shocked to see them selling little tupperware containers with living (and sometimes dead) fish inside. That's a pretty good indicator of the lack of care and disregard for animals you can expect to find there. How about practicing what you preach instead of stocking living creatures like they're processed food. I'm done shopping there and I would advise anyone that cares at all for the welfare of animals to do the same.

Ok, so maybe I didn't do as good at the regular blogging thing as I thought I would. I may have to rethink how I'm going to approach this, but in the mean time I will share some wedding photos I took for a couple good friends of mine. Beceause I was a groomsman I only got pictures from after the ceremony and as you can see my style is more journalistic than the standard poses. I decided to include the few posed toward bottom because I was confident that no one else there would have captured the moment as well as I thought I did.

I feel an introduction is in order, something to give you an idea of what to expect over the next few days and months.

This is me:

As you can see I'm somewhere between 15 and 35, just discovered filters, and am kind of a douche.

Well... Maybe not quite (At least I hope not). Here's the whole picture.

Ok, so maybe I'm not quite the douche bag the first image represented, but shades and a cat for a serious posed picture? That's more than a little creepy and serial killer like.

For now we can hope that cat somehow applied the artistic(canned, boring, uninspired) effect. Hopefully a little color will shed some light on me.

Ok, the now apparent pajama pants don't exactly make a case for not living in mom's basement eating toaster pastry, but at least it's hopefully quite clear that I don't take myself seriously at all.

I think it's pretty cool how much the crop and other edits can effect the overall message of an image.

I'm Chris, I live in the heart of the Okanagan in Lake Country, BC. I'm very passionate about photography and have been constantly growing my skills since I first picked up a DSLR a few years ago. I plan for this to be about photography in general, photography as it relates to me, and about my own life (with pictures included of course.) Hopefully this will be entertaining and stay fresh, I'm initially planning on about about one post a week, but will see how it goes from there. As for the rest of my life I'm a 25 year old vegan who manages paid media for an SEO company, I'm big on fitness, and nutrition and tend to have a humorous cynical outlook on the world.
